The Winery: Located north east of Red Bluff off Highway 36, Alger Vineyards & Winery is found in an almost enchanted valley surrounded by volcanic cinder cones on two sides and the rolling foothills of the upper Sierra Nevada Mountains and Mount Lassen in the distance on the others. It takes a bit of time to get there, but the trip through the back country roads of southern Shasta County, northern Tehama County is beautifully scenic. The Winery: Located in a picturesque creek valley just east of Trinity Lake, this winery can be an adventure to find, but the beauty of the area is well worth the trip. The mountains around the estate are rugged, but breathtaking. This location is what gives their grapes, and eventually their wines, a flavor profile unique to this corner of the state. The Winery: Located west of Highway 5 between Red Bluff and Redding, the winery has its roots in a cooperative effort by neighbors Tom and Joy Burnham and Deanna and Jim Tomasini. What started as a hobby has turned into a boutique sized commercial winery in the year 2000. They started out producing only between 200 and 350 cases per year and sold out quickly and continue to grow, producing 1700 cases from the 2005 vintage. Read More

The Winery:This is a very small vineyard and winery located just off the Highway 299 out of Redding to Burney Falls and points east. The winery offers tasting by apppointment only.  It's best to call ahead for directions as it's hard to find the winery. They also sell their wines at the Farmer’s Market in Redding every Saturday spring through fall. This is one of the oldest wineries in the region; the third bonded in Shasta County. Read More
