The Winery:
This is the oldest bonded winery in Shasta County, established in 1984 by Oscar Matson and is located closest to the city of Redding. The winery is now managed by the second generation of the Matson family, Roger Matson. Tasting is available by appointment only.

The Vineyards:
Planted at the estate vineyards are such warm region grapes as Zinfandel, Petite Sirah, Aglianco, Tannat, and Tempranillo. The Matsons also own a second vineyard near the Shingletown area called Wisteria Vineyards where they have planted the cooler varieties of Viognier and Cabernet Sauvignon.

The Wines:
The winery currently offers a Bordeaux Blend, Shiraz, Zinfandel, Petite Sirah, White Wine Blend, Red Wine Blend and a Port. The labels of these bottles are very beautifully designed and another reason to try these very nice wines.

The Winemaker:
Roger Matson, the second generation to operate Matson Vineyards, has a degree from UC Davis and has worked for wineries in the Mendocino County as well as the family winery.
