The Winery: Intermountain Vineyard and Winery is situated on a five acre estate north east of Redding. This is an area of pretty significant summer heat, but still enjoys a bit of that great evening cooling off the mountains. There is currently no tasting room located at the winery, but one is coming soon with the final approval of the winery bond and permit; possibly as soon as early 2008.

The Vineyards: The estate is planted to not only wine grapes, but table grapes, blackberries, raspberry, figs and pears as well. The wine grapes grown are primarily Viognier, Muscat, Zinfandel, Chardonnay and Syrah.

The Wines: Intermountain produces wine from their estate grown grapes in addition to a large selection of fruit wines. Fruit wines are particularly popular on the East Coast, but have only just begun to develop a following in the west. He currently makes these wines from estate grown figs, raspberries, blackberries, peaches and coming soon is pomegranate.

The Winemaker: Robert Hooper was a retired industrial arts high school teacher and local businessman who found he had a love of agriculture and winemaking. In 1997 he began planting vineyards in earnest and co-founded the Shasta Cascade Viticulture Association with Allan Griggs in 2002.
